Organic DHE

If you wanted to, you could think of Project Sanctuary as a form of advanced and organic DHE.

However, unless you choose to do so, you are not restricted to building mechanical interfaces with your unconscious neuro-physiological processes with all the limitations this entails - and indeed, you are not restricted to your neuro-physiological processes with Project Sanctuary.

The beauty of any organic structure is that it is far more complex than even the most complex piece of man-made machinery; it also can grow and develop in it's own way which machinery can not. This is not only a wonderful way to get benefits that were outside the original plan, but also to have a very accurate feedback mechanism on the whole system. One other very important aspect revolves around ecology which is built in by the surrounding mindscapes and provide another safety/feedback mechanism in themselves.

Lastly, a most important and highly relevant aspect revolves around the relationship between the user and the interface device/s, and the user and the outcome the interface device/s is to achieve for the user. Many times it is in this very relationship where the problem that is being sought to overcome, lies in the first place. This becomes apparent readily when organic metaphors are employed and is of great use in the dissolving of blockages to successful outcomes.

Language & Project Sanctuary

The original manual is written in e-prime and contains multiple looped imbedded instructions throughout. Obviously, a training manual written by a neuro-semanticist on the advanced usage of metaphor for change, would also include all kinds of metaphorical loops and embedments, and indeed, this is so. The manual can be read at a top level with ease by lay persons and has actually been described as "easy to read". For the serious student of applied languaging, tracking the conversational submodality changes, conversational time change languaging, association/dissassociation loops and convergence patterns, can provide much fun at another level with the manual. Complex state chains are amongst the favourite approaches - try and track the loops and outcomes!

NLP Acknowledgements

The following had a strong influence on Project Sanctuary in one way or another:

Charles Faulkner. Look up his "Metaphors Of  Identity", a superb seminal work that is absolutely undervalued and mis- or rather, none-understood at this time.

Richard Bandler. What exactly and specifically he had to do with the genesis of Project Sanctuary is hard to say, as most of his installations function at the unconscious level! but without NLP, there would be most definitely be no Project Sanctuary.

Tad James who was my first trainer in NLP and who did a jolly good job, especially as far as understanding and using language is concerned.
